This article aims to explore the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) tools in higher education in Burkina Faso. Semi-structured interviews were used as data collection instruments with 10 university librarians and 10 professors at universities in Burkina Faso. The feedback shows that students also use GAI in their academic work. The results show that some professors and students use ChatGPT or Copilot in their research activities. However, the librarians who participated in the study are unaware of this possibility. This is a concern, as information professionals could help guide students and some professors in avoiding plagiarism. Therefore, it is necessary to train these librarians and documentalists on the challenges of artif icial intelligence. Several recommendations are made for the ethical use of artificial generative intelligence tools in Burkina Faso.
